Dallas Struggles on the Road, Tennessee Finishes Strong

The final week of the WMLBA regular season wrapped up with wins for the Carolina Stars and Tennessee Storm. Tennessee looks like they’re peaking at the right time with a 104-59 victory against the Midwest Reign. “Next season we know where we need to get better. I’m looking forward to adding to the talent we already have and coming back with our hearts set on a championship.” -Jeff Graves, Midwest Reign Head Coach.
A championship is something that is looking very promising for the Dallas Lightning this weekend in Houston. Dallas split their weekend against the Carolina Stars winning their first game on the road 101-68 but fell short in their back to back against the Stars losing 82-83. The loss this weekend doesn’t bear any weight on Dallas’ playoff standing, Dallas Head Coach Alicia Thompson was extremely proud of her team for how hard they fought, “we came off a long trip and were a little shorthanded but this group came to fight and that’s just what we did.” Dallas has their eyes set on taking the WMLBA Championship while the Carolina Stars have their eyes set on next season. “I feel that we made a positive impact in our community this season and we have dedicated players that are only going to get better this offseason. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back next year better than ever.” -Ciara Anderson, Carolina Stars Head Coach.
The Carolina Stars can do just that. The 2018 season will be an exciting one to watch but for now we’ll all be watching who takes home the first ever WMLBA Championship trophy Sunday night in Houston.
